Hard Skills
01/04/2020 – CURRENT
Technical Expertise in Chemistry
My education and background lie in Supramolecular and Physical Organic Chemistry. I focus my research on nanotechnology and biomimetic soft materials, exploring fundamentals at the intersection of chemistry and biophysics. As a dedicated Ph.D. candidate in this field, I have developed expertise in the following techniques:
• Organic synthesis in air-free and anhydrous environments
• Absorption (NMR, UV-Vis, IR) and Emission (Fluorescence) Spectroscopies
• Force spectroscopy (Optical tweezers)
• Microscopy (Optical and Electron Microscopy) and Micro-spectroscopy (Raman)
Additionally, I am familiar with:
• Scattering and diffraction techniques (DLS, XRD, GIWAXS, GISAXS)
• Mass spectrometry and chromatography (GC-MS, LC-MS, ESI, and MALDI)

Hobbies and interests
Poetry
For someone with a strong scientific background poetry may seem a strange combination, but I believe that a more profound experience of the word emerges from this “contrast” and one can always benefit from keeping an open mind. I started writing poetry when I was in high school and I kept this habit over the years because for me writing was always my first resort for comfort, reflection and above all freedom.
Photography
I am an amateur photographer who enjoys shooting with pretty much anything I have in my hands: it can be a digital, analog camera, a phone or even a microscope.
Reading
My favourite books are the classics and hard sci-fi,
